Depressed and frustrated with his life, Dr. John Kitchin abandons his career as a neurologist and moves to Pacific Beach. There, he undergoes a radical transformation into SLOMO, trading his lab coat for a pair of rollerblades and his IRA for a taste of divinity.
Josh Izenberg: Director/Producer
Josh hails from Ann Arbor, where he earned a degree in Screenwriting from the University of Michigan. He's since worked as a copywriter, a cab driver, and a carpenter. SLOMO is his first documentary.
Amanda Micheli: Producer
Amanda is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker and a celebrated cinematographer. Her first film, JUST FOR THE RIDE, won a student Oscar and IDA Award. DOUBLE DARE, which followed the struggles of two Hollywood stuntwomen, premiered at Toronto and was an audience favorite at festivals worldwide. LA CORONA premiered at Sundance and won an Oscar nod before airing on HBO, and is currently in development for adaptation into a fiction feature. Most recently, she directed THE SAVE for ESPN and ONE NATION UNDER DOG for HBO. Her other credits include THIN, CAT DANCERS, “30 Days,” and MY FLESH AND BLOOD.
Traci Loth: Editor
Traci is a San Francisco-based editor with over a decade of experience in documentary and commercial work for television and film. She cut the award-winning documentary Row Hard, No Excuses. Her corporate clients include Apple, Nike, Yahoo!, and Adobe. Most recently, she was editor for Aerial America (Smithsonian Channel) and One Nation Under Dog (HBO). Currently she is cutting a 60-min feature for ESPN's Nine for IX series.
Wynn Padula: Cinematographer/Co-Producer
Wynn received his M.F.A. in both Directing and Cinematography from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in 2007, where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the world's top cinematographers including Roger Deakins and Janusz Kaminski. Wynn has since produced and shot many festival-winning films including "The Breeze Team" (2nd Place winner, Canadian International Film Festival), "Rainbow Klansmen" (Mill Valley Film Festival), "Felicia's House" and "Lynx" (Best Short Film, Wild & Scenic Film Festival). Before becoming a professional director of photography, Wynn worked in development under the legendary producer Roger Corman.
Nate Sloan: Original Music
Nate studies musicology at Stanford University, teaches jazz history at the Berkeley Jazz Institute, and performs as one-half of the freak-folk duo Sly Boots. He has also written music and lyrics for two musicals, Leavittsburg, OH (2009, Brown University) and Baz and Me (2010, Playwrights' Rep). Slomo is his first film score.
Nick Gage: Original Music
Nick is a Chicago based Songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. Many of his songs have appeared on NPR through local affiliate WBEZ. 2012 brought about his debut musical "Holy Musical B@man!" with Team StarKid. He is currently music directing at Second City.
Jeremiah Moore: Sound Designer / Re-Recording Mixer
Jeremiah Moore designs, edits and mixes sound for film, interactive works and exhibits. He loves collaborating with creative filmmakers, sound people, musicians and other artists, designers and craftspersons. Films he has designed and mixed have premiered at film festivals such as Sundance, Mill Valley, Toronto, San Francisco International and Silverdocs. His broadcast work has been heard on NPR, PBS, and NBC. His corporate and commercial clients include Nike, Microsoft, Toyota, Intel, Levis, and Disney. He serves as co-chair of Bay Area Sound Ecology, organizing social experiences around listening and soundscape. He lives in San Francisco with his partner and two children who, like him, never sleep.
